The Shetland Folk Festival is a non-profit, volunteer driven organisation dedicated to presenting the best folk music from around the globe to the local community and visitors alike.


27th January- Advance Memberships on Sale

The 2012 Advance Membership form is available here. Print it off and fill it in by hand, or fill it in on your computer and print off. Note a handwritten signature is required for card payments. Then pop it in the post, or fax it. Advance members will receive their ticket booking form (and membership receipts) approx. 3 weeks before tickets go on sale to the general public. As Advance membership is increasingly popular, it is still advisable to return these ticket booking forms asap.

Happy New Year folks! It's time to let you know the visiting artiste line up for the 32nd annual Shetland Folk Festival - YIPPEE! We're absolutely delighted to announce 14 visiting bands representing 10 different nationalities - some friends from previous Festivals and many first time visitors,. 4th May 2011 - 364 days go to

Well that's it all over with for another year but the good news is that it's only 364 days to go until the 32nd Shetland Folk Festival - 3rd-6th May 2012.

Thanks to each and everyone of you that have contributed to the success of the 31st Shetland Folk Festival. All the amazing visiting artistes, all the local bands and performers, our all important volunteers (whether in the halls, selling raffles, the stewards, merchandise sellers, accommodation providers, transport providers etc), all our concert venues, the Islesburgh Festival Club, the PA and Lighting Operators, Lerwick Boating Club Bar Volunteers and Valhalla Brewery, all our sponsors and funders, the photographers and journalists and the amazing audiences.

Without you our Festival would simply not be possible so our love and thanks goes to each and every one of you. Fae, Da Committee xx

4th December 2010 - We won!

We are very happy to announce that the Shetland Folk Festival has won the 'Event of the Year' award at this years' Scot Trad Music Awards. Thanks to everyone who voted for us and thanks to everyone who support & help make the Festival what it is year to year! Whoooooooooo!
