The Hackles

The Hackles

Hailing from the oldest settlement west of the Rocky Mountains - Astoria on the big Columbia River - The Hackles are an impressive American trio showcasing sumptuous vocal harmonies and song-writing, which has confirmed them as a major force on the Americana/indie folk circuit.

The Hackles made their UK debut in 2023 with a major UK tour that included an appearance at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections. Reviewing that show for Americana UK, respected writer, Paul Kerr said: “the Oregon-based trio, three superb musicians and singers, played a set which was at times almost hypnotic.”

They followed up their superb 2019 album, ‘A Dobritch Did As A Dobritch Should’ with a new release in 2023.  This latter album ‘What A Beautiful Thing I Have Made’ was widely praised and won them a huge amount of radio exposure. Of the album, AmericanaUK said, “The title says it all!”

On their home patch, the band are close friends and collaborators of the legendary American folk hero, Michael Hurley, with whom they perform on a regular basis.

The band members Kati Claborn (vocals, guitar, banjo, clarinet), Luke Ydstie (vocals, guitar, bass, keys) and Halli Anderson (vocals, violin).
