Shetland's Young Fiddler of the Year 2022

The Shetland Young Fiddler of the Year brings together many of Shetland’s talented young fiddlers to showcase their music just the weekend before the Shetland Folk Festival.

Contemporary and traditional Shetland tunes are performed by over 100 fiddlers aged six to sixteen before the 2022 judges. Three age groups compete for an array of silverware and there is a winner for both the Open and Traditional section in each age group. In the senior age group the fiddler who performs best in both sections is awarded the prestigious title of Shetland Young Fiddler of the Year. We will feature the winning sets of the 2022 competition at Mareel on Friday 29th April.
