The Lowest Pair

The Lowest Pair

Described as a ‘sultry country duo’ by Spin magazine, The Lowest Pair from the USA features the duel banjo picking and sweet harmonies of Kendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee.

Kendl Winter, born in Arkansas, put three solo records out and performed in nationally-touring northwest string bands before forming The Lowest Pair with Palmer T. Lee in 2013 and embarking on an incredible musical journey.  Since then, the duo has been building up an impressive Stateside head of steam. They have been so creative lately that they issued two new releases – together – in 2016.  Kendl Winter brings to The Lowest Pair her wonderfully weaving poetry of song, old and new with her beautiful atmospheric vocals. Palmer T. Lee hails from Minneapolis and was nineteen years old when he inherited a couple of banjos and discovered he could reassemble them into his dream instrument.  Palmer’s songs are distilled into the warm sweet sounds of his percussive wordplay and the melodic interludes of his own unique style played on a pieced together banjo.  Respected writer Mike Morrison described them as “a huge breath of fresh air” at the AmericanRootsUK website while the hugely-influential Lonesome Highway (Ireland) called them a “musical marriage made in heaven”.  Their talent, creative impulses and charm has resulted in a uniquely original sound that is The Lowest Pair.
