Gary Innes & Ewen Henderson

Gary Innes & Ewen Henderson

Growing up in Lochaber, one of the most musically rich areas of the Scottish Highlands, both Gary and Ewen were immersed in traditional culture from an early age and have long been recognised as leading exponents of Highland music.

Gary Innes and Ewen Henderson have been performing together for over ten years and in that time have developed the kind of intimate musical understanding and telepathy that only comes with many years spent sharing tunes and ideas.

More recently, the pair have toured extensively as founding-members of Scots supergroup ‘Mànran’, becoming well-known to festival audiences throughout Europe and North America for their exhilarating live performances and powerhouse trad-rock sound.

As a duo, Innes and Henderson’s performances are characterised not only by their obvious fire, dexterity and flair for the lively, upbeat side of Scottish music but also by some of the most tender, heartfelt treatment of slow-airs to be heard anywhere today. Audiences can expect a show packed with accordion, fiddle and bagpipe music as well as Scottish songs in both English and Gaelic, tied together with stories, tall-tales and a healthy dose of true Highland “craic”.
