Being brought up on the Black Isle, Catherine and Sarah have been immersed in a rich culture of traditional music.

They both started playing instruments at the age of eight, having a classical training in school. However, it soon became clear that their passion lay in traditional music. Through participating in the Feisean movement and continued tuition both in school and in the community, they have been and continue to be inspired by the magical world of folk music. And folk musicians!

Sarah and Catherine play a mixture of Scottish, Irish, Cape Breton and Shetland tunes, including some of their own compositions and also enjoy singing. They will both be playing fiddle for this year's festival and joined by Robbie Leask on guitar.
