George Spence and Fraser Jamieson
Fiddle player George Spence, from Unst, grew up in a musical family and has been playing the fiddle since the age of 8.
He was the winner of Shetland’s Young Fiddler of the Year and also won the prize for the Junior Tune Competition for one of his compositions. Some influences and styles in his playing are: Shetland Traditional, Bluegrass, Canadian and North East Scottish. He will be accompanied by the very talented Fraser Jamieson from Shetland. Born into a very musical family also. Fraser has been brought up surrounded by music of all genres and has always enjoyed a good tune. He is currently studying for a music degree at Edinburgh Napier and when home performs with local bands Skelburn and Full Cooked Breakfast.
