Paddy Callaghan, Adam Brown and Danny Boyle

Fresh from winning the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year, the Shetland Folk Festival is delighted to welcome back accordion player Paddy Callaghan accompanied by Danny Boyle on flute and Adam Brown on bodhran.

Paddy, 26, from Glasgow, who has previously been a runner up in 2010, overcame competition from five other contestants to win the prize, which has proven to be a stepping-stone to greater success for previous winners.

Paddy and Danny, both based in Glasgow are heavily involved (in their day jobs and spare time) in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music, with Paddy a regular presenter or Celtic Music Radio.

Paddy, Danny and Adam have all appeared at previous Shetland Folk Festivals including with Cushtie, Anarkali and Feolta.

Welcome back guys!
