Mairearad and Anna

As two of Scotland’s finest multi-instrumentalists, Mairearad Green (accordion and bagpipes) and Anna Massie (guitar, banjo, fiddle) are a truly captivating duo whose performances are highly energetic and engaging.

Having played alongside each other for over ten years now, they have an extremely friendly and warm stage presence and with “almost telepathic communication”, they revel in an intuitive approach to each other’s musical ideas and interpretations. With intricately arranged sets and plenty of on stage banter, they have deservedly inherited a reputation as one of Scotland’s “must see” acts.

Now based in Glasgow, Mairearad and Anna both grew up in the Scottish Highlands and so share an innate understanding of Scottish culture and music.

As a duo they have enjoyed many successes with their two albums both being met with wide critical acclaim. Both are multiple award-winners in their own right and as part of numerous well known bands that they can also be seen performing with including The Poozies, Blazin’ Fiddles, Bella Hardy, Box Club and The Unusual Suspects.
