Kansa

Downsizing this year, Kansa are an acoustic band compromising Karlyn Grains, Adam Priest, Robert Wishart and Lynda Anderson. Adrian & Norma Wishart are taking a year out this year as they are currently building the band’s new practice studio.

Karlyn provides lead vocals with Adam and Robert providing subtle harmonies. Kansa has consisted of a few line ups over the years but this one is no different to any other. Rhythm and bass are provided by Robert on guitar and mandolin and Adam on bass. Adam punctuates the sound with his rhythmical take on a double bass while also picking up the guitar now and again. Soulful accompaniment is provided by Lynda on fiddle who seasons her Shetland fiddle roots with a healthy dash of Nashville, Tennessee." The main thing the band get from their music is a peerie fun playing the American music they have grown up listening to. The band is looking forward to a slightly new and varied sound this year.
