Fjanna are an extremely talented group of young Shetland musicians who have scooped not only individual but collectively many accolades locally and nationally over the past two years and setting the local music scene alight!
Fjanna consist of Jodie Smith (15) fiddle, Arran Philip (16) drums and pipes, Mike Laurenson (15) accordion and Anya Johnston (14) fiddle and piano. This young up and coming band have had an eventful couple of years, in great demand for performances in Shetland and further afield and a great achievement in late 2017 was producing, designing and marketing their debut album ‘ROUTE 970’.
Varied music influences including the youngster’s own compositions and individual style make this group’s repertoire an enjoyable and entertaining experience for all music lovers. In 2018, they were shortlisted to perform as part of Celtic Connections prestigious Danny Kyle Open Stage competition.
