Tickets

The information below will be updated for 2026 soon.

We are developing a new ticketing system that we will use for the 2026 event BUT the principles remain the same as previous years.

Key Facts

  • Tickets will be on sale for individual concerts and events at venues the length and breadth of Shetland. The concert programme of who is playing where will be released in early March. We will have a large number of concerts programmed at venues in Shetland's capital town, Lerwick but also at least 6 concerts in rural areas.
  • The Shetland Folk Festival do not currently offer all-inclusive tickets for the festival, and have no plans to do so. An individual ticket must be purchased for every concert you wish to attend.
  • Tickets for members of the Festival will be considerably cheaper as tickets for non-members.

Those who purchase membership during the month of February (early/organised members) will be able to buy their tickets one week before going on broader sale. This is likely to be from 6pm (UK time) on Monday 16 March 2026. Only early members will be able to book tickets from this date. If you miss the deadline for purchasing early membership, membership sale will re-open on Monday 23 March 2026 at 5.30pm, with tickets going on sale at 6pm.

Please note concert tickets are always in high demand and so early membership is becoming increasingly popular. All tickets are sold on a strict first come first served basis. Due to high demand, even some early members will not be able to purchase tickets originally hoped for.

Prices for tickets vary depending on the concert, but will fall into four brackets: Adult Member, Adult Non-Member, Child Member and Child Non-Member.

Ticket prices have not been set yet but information from 2025 is presented below as a guide.

Adult Members ticket prices will range from £16.00 - £21.00, Adult Non-members £20.00 - £27.00 and Child tickets were considerably cheaper ranging from £8.00 - £13.00. The shorter Peerie Spang concert targeted at families with young children will have ticket prices ranging from £6.00 to £10.00. Please note adults will not be able to attend unless accompanied by a young person!

Child price tickets are available to young people under the age of 18. Festival Club lates are for anyone aged 14 and over. Children aged 14-17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times at the Festival Club lates. At all Festival events we expect minors to be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

Children under the age of 2 on the first day of the Festival (30 April 2026) do not need to have concert tickets, as long as they are not occupying a seat during any of the ticketed events.

Thursday and Sunday Ticket Allocations for Members

  • A maximum of one afternoon concert ticket and one evening ticket will be allocated to each membership number.
  • We expect at least one child ticket to be included in ticket orders for the Peerie Spang family concert.

Friday and Saturday Ticket Allocations for Members

  • A maximum of one afternoon concert ticket, one evening concert ticket and a Festival Club Late will be allocated to each membership number. Only Folk Festival members will be able to purchase tickets for the Club Late.
  • Please note the opening hours for the Festival Club Late and factor in where you are travelling from, especially if it is a concert in a rural area. Doors will open at 10.30pm for music commencing around 11.15pm. The music and bars will close by 02.00am and the Festival Club must be cleared by 03.00am.
  • The Legion offers later starting evening concerts, which will only finish around midnight.
  • Folk Festival Members aged 14 and over may attend the Festival Club Late but only if accompanied by an Adult Member. The ticketing system will not allow the sale of under 18 tickets for Festival Club Lates without an Adult member also buying tickets.

None of our concert venues operate with allocated or numbered seating, but for any customers with mobility or impairment issues, please contact the Festival organisers in advance and we will be happy to make provisions for early access and/or reserved seating at our ticketed venues.

Online ticket and membership sales will close at 5pm (UK time) on Thursday 30th April.

For notes on Online Ticket Buying Process, Queuing and Stripe and PayPal Checkout please see the News item Here.

Tickets issued by the Shetland Folk Festival Society are non-transferable and non-refundable. We reserve the right to alter concert line-ups as circumstances may dictate.
