They perform captivating arrangements of Irish, Scottish, French-Canadian, Galician, Quebecois and old-time tunes whilst also honing their writing skills by producing some stunning compositions for their new album, “In the Shadow of Stromboli” released in early 2012.
Representing Ireland, England and Scotland in their music and heritage, the line up includes Scottish fiddler Jamie Smith (Beneche, SBO Band), Irish born accordionist Colette O’Leary (Bumblebees), London-Irish banjo/mandolin virtuoso Brian Kelly (Shane McGowan and The Popes) and Dorset based guitarist and singer Alex Percy (Beltane).
Over the past 6 years, the band have forged an excellent reputation with appearances at numerous festivals including Celtic Connections, Glastonbury, Wimorne and Towersey and have toured in Italy, Austria and Germany.
Nothing short of sublime, the dance sets implausibly quick yet immaculately detailed, brilliantly intense yet utterly supple, silkily dovetailed in a thrilling panoply of colour, texture and taut sprung rhythms.
