Kirsten Adamson & The Tanagers

Kirsten Adamson & The Tanagers

Award-winning singer/songwriter Kirsten Adamson (daughter of rock legend Stuart Adamson of Big Country & Skids) is a rising star in the UK Americana circuit who summons the same heart-stopping purity as Sandy Denny, by way of Emmylou Harris and Kate Bush.

Since spending summers soaking up the atmosphere in Nashville with her dad, and singing on Big Country’s Driving To Damascus album, Kirsten has been steadily developing her own voice and songwriting, with indie folkers Aberfeldy, country rockers The Gillyflowers and Americana duo The Marriage.

Launched at Celtic Connections in 2023, her second solo album Landing Place (2023) is a glorious powerhouse of emotionally charged, beautifully delivered songs that bustles and glistens with echoes of folk rock and country gems.

For her trip to Shetland, she will be appearing with her band The Tanagers who have impressed the audiences and critics at many festivals throughout the UK over the past year. Richard Anderson (bass), Scott Forsyth (drums) and Jon Mackenzie (electric guitar) are drawn together by their love of harmonies and Americana providing the perfect outfit for Adamson's country style.
