Lost Highway Ensemble
Drew Robertson originates from Muckle Roe and is a 'weel kent man'. He is taking some of his friends home to Shetland for the festival for a few tunes.
The Lost Highway Ensemble were Country Blues, Bluegrass, folk and Rock musicians who were brought together by sheer chance to play a one off gig. Their instant impact and chemistry was so profound that they were immediately approached to play regularly before they had the chance to get off the stage, at that point some of the band members had only met once, but yet something seemed surreal, something felt magical. The audience reaction that night and the consequent demand for them since then have been overwhelming. They play their music with passion and pride, with the kind of fire and energy that would leave most punk bands wilting in their wake. Their multi-instrumental line up, as well as their harmonies, are the backbone of this band. The Lost Highway Ensemble are a pastiche of another era, they are the sound of early hillbilly and country, and have time warped their way to audiences causing a sensation where ever they go! With hard driving songs and tunes from the likes of Bill Monroe, Hank Williams, the Delmore brothers and many others, this crazy moonshine fuelled rocket of bluegrass and country blues is heading straight for you.......and you'd better believe they'll blow your socks off!!
