Charity Johnson

Charity Johnson is singer-songwriter and third sector worker based in the Shetland Islands.

Johnson hails from the Philippines, and her song writing weaves stories of her pursuit of home and everything in between, the plight of a constant migrant, characterised by expressive vocals and undertones of traditional Filipino kundiman guitar work.

Johnson moved to the UK in 2015 and has continued to engage with the local music scene. In 2016, her band, Visitors, released a 4-track EP, I Didn't Know It Would Mean Home, which debuted at the 2017 Folk Festival.
