Kirrmirren and Skalva

Kirrmirren means a pleasant sensation and this group of young lasses and their fiddle tutor got together in 2018 to compete in "Shetland's got talent".

The girls went onto win the competition and since then have performed many times and have become well known in the Shetland music scene.

Skalva are 3 talented young musicians who formed a group for the Shetland Accordion and Fiddle festival in 2022. They subsequently went onto compete at a Perth festival in 2022. They are Maisie Henderson, Yelena Anderson and Victoria Byrne and they will be performing in a combined slot with Kirrmirren for this festival at Bigton Hymus on Sunday afternoon
