Kansa have a long association and interest in Americana music with founding members having subliminally absorbed country music at an early age. Inspired by acts such as the Carter family and Louvin Brothers, they have a keen interest in contemporary Americana music flavours and a wider interest in blues, jazz, funk and bluegrass.
More recently Kansa have been pushing their boundaries with their own contemporary arrangements and original material while retaining a strong bluegrass sound and feel to their set. They have a bluegrass infused line up with fiddle, double bass, guitar, and mandolin fronted by two versatile female vocalsits who deliver highly individual performances or equally tight close harmony. Shetlanders can't wait to hear their new material as they prepare to release their debut album later this year.
