The committee of the Shetland Folk Festival only organise accommodation for visiting artists. We do not organise accommodation for Festival goers travelling to the Festival. Most Festival-goers decide to base themselves in Shetland's capital, Lerwick although there is accommodation throughout the islands.
The Festival Club is based in Lerwick and so too are quite a few of our other main venues including Clickimin, Mareel, Legion and St Columba's. For this reason, many visitors choose to base themselves here when trying to find accommodation.

Booking accommodation in advance of arriving in Shetland is highly recommended.
There is an award winning youth hostel available just across the road from the Festival Club at Islesburgh House. For more details please contact Islesburgh by email on [email protected] or telephone +44 (0)1595 745 100. On doing so, please state that you are travelling up for the Festival.
Some of our hotels offer special rates for those attending the Festival and this info will be published here as and when it is available.
There are campsites available in Shetland, but unfortuately there is no campsite in the main town of Lerwick at this present time. For more information on campsites in Shetland click here
Please note, the Shetland weather conditions can be variable in the month of May! If you have a camper van there will be spots in Lerwick that are suitable for parking overnight.
