Opening Concert - Festival Club (Islesburgh), Lerwick
Your first chance to see all the visiting bands from this years line-up. A small taster where all the visiting artists will perform one song/set each. Open to non-members. Free event.
Step Into My Parlour - Mareel, Lerwick
Step into Michelle’s memorabilia-bedecked living-room for songs, yarns and a complement of Scotland and Ireland's finest musicians. You never know who’ll drop in for a sherry and party-piece! Inspired by discovering her great granny’s scrapbook, former lead vocalist with Cherish the Ladies, will charm and beguile you with tales of pneumonia and cows! This show will be slightly shorter than an average Folk Festival evening concert - two halves with an interval. Cabaret style seating and balcony seating sold separately.

Friday Afternoon Tall Ship Session - Statsraad Lehmkuhl, Lerwick
An all acoustic affair featuring short sets by visiting and local acts on the Training ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl (docked at Victoria Pier) between 4 and 6pm. Traditional Bergen Soup and Norwegian refreshments will be for sale by the crew. Pay on the day by donation - suggested entry fee of £3 per adult (children free)

Spangin' Spree - Clickimin Centre, Lerwick
Our Spangin' Spree event is predominantly a standing gig, where dancing is expected and full use will be made of a our lighting rig, including possible strobe and other effects. Limited bleacher seating will be available at the back of the hall, on a first come first serve basis.

Vair Album Launch - Festival Club (Islesburgh), Lerwick
Held in Room 10, we are delighted that one of Shetland's top bands is launching their debut album at the Festival. This session will showcase some of their new tunes/songs performed acoustically and will be the first opportunity to lay you hands on a copy of "A Place in Time"

Held in room 10 and led by two fantastic tutors from High Level Music we'd like to invite all young folk festival members to come along with their instruments for a dedicated youth session. This is the first time we've organised such an event and we hope it will be the first of many!
Shetland Reel Workshop

Venue: Festival Club (Islesburgh), Lerwick
This workshop is inspired by a renewed interest in the Islands in the Shetland Reel which has many variations. We thought it was a good time to provide the opportunity to come along and learn how to dance the reel and perhaps some variations from another part of Shetland. Workshop in Room 16, duration will be approximately 1 hour.
