A founding member of the aboriginal collaborative Indian City, Prince helped release two albums which garnered him the Aboriginal Songwriter of the Year award at the 2014 Indigenous Music Awards. Stepping out on his own as a country-folk singer/songwriter, his lead single “The Carny” hit Number 1 on Sirius XM’s National Aboriginal Music Countdown Top 40 in November of 2015. The following year, he was awarded the title of Aboriginal Artist of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards, and spent much of 2017 performing shows the length and breadth of Canada as well as the Folk Alliance International Conference in Kansas, Tonder Festival in Denmark and he also sang live for the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games in Toronto. To round off his latest achievements, he also added a prestigious trophy to his cabinet in claiming the title of Contemporary Roots Album of the Year at the Juno Awards in 2017 for ‘Earthly Days’.
Our festival audiences can expect to be seduced by his stunning vocals and beautiful songwriting.
