Arvra is a vibrant folk ensemble where tradition meets fresh musical voices. Featuring a rich blend of fiddles, viola, guitar, piano and flute, the group creates a layered, expressive sound that is both rooted in heritage and alive with new energy.
The band brings together four familiar faces from the Shetland traditional music scene — Pauline Wiseman, Alison Anderson, Ylena Anderson and Robbie Leask — each well known for their musicianship and contribution to local folk culture.
Arvra weave traditional Shetland tunes with original compositions and folk melodies from around the world, creating performances that are dynamic, heartfelt and full of character.
We are delighted to welcome Arvra as they make their folk festival debut this year — they are sure to be a wonderful addition to the line-up.
