Veronica and the Red Wine Serenaders

This talented trio are fine purveyors of good-time country blues. They passionately play ragtime, hokum, jug band and rural music from the 20s and 30s America with a bit of a twist– they are from Italy!

Veronica Sbergia (vocals, ukulele, washboard, kazoo), Max De Bernardi (vocals, resophonic guitar, mandolin, acoustic guitar) and Dario Polerani (double bass, backing vocals) play strictly acoustic instruments to reproduce an original sound with a modern twist. Veronica and the Red Wine Serenaders are winners of the European Blues Challenge 2013, an important international contest held in Toulouse in March.  Since then they have been regularly invited to perform in USA, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Norway, Spain, England, Italy and Poland.  Bringing old stories to modern times, their concerts are a musical journey through the plantations of Southern USA, the brothels of New Orleans, prohibition, the barrelhouses of the Mississippi, the prisons of Louisiana and on to the urban blues of the Great Depression of 1929.  This is “blues music that will put a smile on your face”.
