The Revellers

The Revellers are a seven-piece juggernaut that combine fiddle, mandolin and tenor banjo with heavy metal, punk and alternative rock rhythm sections. The end result is something which has been nicknamed by onlookers as “heavy folk music” or “viking metal” but either way, they're heralded as one of Shetland's most prominent folk rock bands.

Praised for their energetic live shows and stage antics, they have been described as one of the most entertaining bands in the North. They were the first act to sell out Shetland’s multi-million pound music venue, Mareel, and the first to record in the venue’s studio with their debut album Renegades in 2013. While all members are based on the isles, they have played festivals and venues around the UK and Europe, and have performed with the likes of Big Country, The Levellers and The Dubliners so far.

The band released their third album and first new music in 9 year gap with Reactors in September 2025. The band worked with local musician and sound engineer Jamie Hatch to create the album, with recording taking place over the last three years in an array of locations such as The Bop Shop, Stevie Hook’s Wobbly Gang Hut Studios, a disused kirk in North Nesting and the Adenia fishing boat.

The seven-piece band – Magnus Bradley, Adam Priest, John William Halcrow, Michael Anderson, Magnus Williamson and the Peterson Brothers (Lewie and Erik) – will showcases original material as usual at the festival spanning a range of styles from rock, folk and punk.
