The Complete Recordings of Hezekiah Procter

The Complete Recordings of Hezekiah Procter (1925–1930) is a distinctive live music experience created by acclaimed Montreal songwriter Li’l Andy. Presented as the rediscovered legacy of a fictitious early country music pioneer, the project brings the sound and spirit of 1920s Americana vividly to life through song, storytelling and period style.

Originally recorded using restored 1930s equipment to capture the character of 78-rpm records, the material truly comes alive on stage.

Anchored by Li’l Andy’s resonant baritone voice and engaging stage presence, the performance moves fluidly between music and narrative, drawing audiences into the imagined world of Hezekiah Procter.

The live show features a superb band of roots musicians, including Sam Allison and Brian Sanderson (who will be familiar to Shetland Folk Festival audiences from their 2016 appearance with Sheesham Lotus & Son) alongside Amy Alvey, a country and roots fiddler from Nashville whose playing adds fire, finesse and deep traditional authenticity.

Together, the ensemble delivers a rich blend of vintage country, folk and blues, infused with warmth, humour and theatrical flair.

Praised by No Depression as “Montreal’s greatest country songwriter today,” Li’l Andy offers not a museum piece but a living, breathing concert - playful, poignant and rooted in the great storytelling traditions of folk music.
